Filton Hill School

Headteacher welcome

We are delighted that you are taking the time to find out about our wonderful school.  We hope that this website gives you a chance to get a 'feel' for this special school community.

Filton Hill is a calm, happy and friendly school, within the Filton area of South Gloucestershire. We are a one form entry school, which gives us a real homely, community feel. We have an inclusive culture and we are a high achieving school with excellent results. It is important to us that our children get the very best out of their school life both academically and socially. We have strong teaching and support staff, who are committed to this vision. Together We Achieve is our school vision and we have an exciting, but rigorous, curriculum to ensure children receive excellent teaching and engaging learning.

We take care when selecting and placing materials around the school, in the same way that we do in our own homes. Wherever possible, we use natural materials, muted and soft colours. The careful placement of objects, images and quotes throughout the school, makes the entire experience of being there feel special.

We are incredibly fortunate to have extensive grounds on our school site, which includes our own field, playground, adventure trim trail, Forest School area and zip-wire.

Our EYFS outside area is a rich, dynamic and natural space for learning, through play. The children have the freedom to explore, use their senses and be physically active and creative.

Through high-quality teaching and excellent pastoral care we aim to meet the highest expectations of a quality education for your child. Our SENCO is always available to meet with parents and offer support.

This website shows you all the different experiences the children have at this school, how well they are learning and how we aim to ensure they have a positive experience through their primary years of education. We are very proud of our school and enjoy celebrating our many successes.

Parents and carers are always welcome in school and we aim to be as open as possible in our communication. We would love you to visit our school; we believe you will be impressed by our high expectations, the quality of teaching, our captivating and stimulating learning environment, and our motivated and well-behaved learners.

We look forward to seeing you at Filton Hill.

With best wishes
